The MLS season is about to start and I can’t wait. It’s time to drink, chant, and repeat. This year it’s starting with much bigger fanfare for the Los Angeles Riot Squad (www.lariotsquad.com) Since we’re having a party tomorrow, supporters’ match Saturday, and a pre-game picnic Sunday. It’s good to be back.
Works been slow, none of the crazies lately, but we’ll see how long that holds up.
Student: “I’m trying to add a class but the website won’t let me.”
Me: “If it’s a full term class you have to get an add permit from the instructor.”
S: “Well where do I get the permit.”
M: “From the instructor.”
S: “Where is the class?”
M: “What class are you trying to add?”
S: “It’s something like PE 001″
M: “We don’t have a PE 001″
S: “That’s where it’s located.”
M: “We don’t have a PE building”
S: “UGH… (mumbles to herself)… It’s P”
M: “We don’t have a P building”
S: “(mumbles some more) It’s room P 00L!”
M: “I think you mean P O O L”
S: “Well where the hell is that?”
M: “It’s the Pool”
I’ve seriously neglected this blog for a while. I have a lot going on. So to get back into it, I’ll start with some random thoughts:
Just got back from the USA Sevens Rugby Tournament in Las Vegas. Like always it was a lot of fun, can’t wait until next year.
There’s a band, I have no idea what kind of music they play, and none of the ladies in said band are drop dead gorgeous, but one of them seriously gets my motor going. Gotta check them out if only for that, haha.
Back in school after taking the Winter off, blah.
The Kings aren’t playing like Champions, the Clippers have come back down to earth, the Galaxy and Dodgers are in the off season. Not terribly exciting sports-wise
Seriously, why does that girl turn me on? lol
I haven’t even had time to brew my beer.
Need to practice for the soccer team. Tournament final in 2 weeks.
Need to plan to trips, slow going there. It’ll get down eventually. I hope.
Need to fix other people’s errors at work. Ain’t nobody got time for that.
It’s lunch time… I think I’ll take a nap.
I’m a huge fan of the Science Fiction genre. If it’s Sci-Fi I’ll try and watch it, though the really bad stuff I’ll turn off. This has of course led me to watch the Syfy channel on many occasions. Sometimes I’ve loved a show or a couple, but they rarely have more than a couple of shows that are good airing at once. Sometimes it’s because of budget concerns, others because of ratings, and others because the shows aren’t very good.
With my love of the genre comes knowledge of many shows, and it’s creators. Example, Joss Whedon has created many of the best Sci-Fi shows out there, thing is his shows get picked up by major networks and get cancelled when they can’t build a major audience. It’s very disappointing when they’re some of your favorite shows. The thing is Whedon gets the money to make his shows.
I’ve also wondered why Syfy doesn’t pick up cancelled Sci-Fi shows that had decent ratings. Decent ratings on a major network would be great ratings on Syfy. The loyal followings that these shows tend to build would be great.
All this has led me to an idea. Whedon and Syfy should team up. Whedon’s name would bring in money, and his shows would have good ratings on Syfy, and they should pick up the best of the cancelled series from the major networks. Not only would the line up be good now, the series that would have been completed on Syfy would have been huge dvd/bluray sellers.
Maybe with better ratings and money coming in they could have kept Stargate: Universe going, The Sarah Connor Chronicles might still be on TV, Firefly could be celebrating it’s 10th anniversary…
The things that could have been…
Been playing a lot of soccer lately. Tweaked my knee but I’m still playing. I’m feeling great, glad to be in a groove working out groove.
Now onto important things… The Dark Knight Rises… Holy. Fucking. Shit. Batman… That is all, no spoilers to be found here, haha.
This is the post I was trying to post today, I finally figured out what was wrong with WordPress and I was first posting stuff from about a month ago haha.
I’ve decided to organize my kitchen. It’s been almost 3 years since I moved here and I haven’t organized my cabinets since then. I need to do so because I want to start cooking on a regular basis again. I’ve been getting way to lazy. With my cabinets all disorganized I get discouraged from cooking, cause it takes forever to find ingredients, lol.
I know exactly what my first dish will be too…
